With the surge in adults seeking services for suspected ADHD, there is an unprecedented need for clinicians who are equipped to diagnose and treat this disorder. We must be aware of important shifts as individuals move from childhood into adolescence and adulthood, including changes in presentation, diagnostic criteria, opportunities, and impairments. Informed clinicians can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these individuals through assessment and intervention. During this one-hour webinar, we will examine real-world applications of adult ADHD research, including practical suggestions you can use in your clinical practice with clients who are launching into adulthood.

At the end of this webinar, you will be able to…

  • Explain reasons people present for diagnosis/treatment of ADHD in late adolescence and adulthood.
  • Describe key shifts in presentation of ADHD from childhood into adulthood and list important differences in DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria for older adolescents and adults.
  • Summarize areas of functioning that are vulnerable to impairment for adults with ADHD.
  • Identify at least one practical strategy you can use to make a difference in the life of an adolescent/adult with ADHD.
