Advancing Adult ASD Diagnosis with ASRS® Adult

August 27 at 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

Number of credits: CE*

Webinar description:

The presentations of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in adults are often complex, nuanced, and easily overlooked or misinterpreted. As a result, practitioners may face challenges in accurately identifying and assessing ASD in adult populations. How can practitioners approach an adult ASD assessment with greater confidence and clarity?

In this webinar, we introduce the Autism Spectrum Rating Scales™ Adult (ASRS® Adult), co-authored by Sam Goldstein, PhD, and Jack A. Naglieri, PhD. Participants will gain an overview of this multi-informant rating scale, including guidance on administration, scoring, and interpretation. We will also explore how the ASRS Adult fits within adult ASD assessment workflows, clarifying who it is designed for and the clinical needs it is intended to support.

The session will highlight key features of the ASRS Adult, including its scale structure, reporting outputs, and psychometric foundation. Attendees will also review evidence on standardization, reliability, validity, and fairness, as well as practical considerations for integrating the tool into professional practice.

Learning objectives:

  • Describe the purpose, target population, and role of the ASRS Adult within adult ASD assessment contexts.
  • Explain how the ASRS Adult fits within adult autism assessment workflows.
  • Apply key considerations for administration, scoring, and interpretation of the ASRS Adult.
  • Evaluate core features and psychometric properties of the ASRS Adult to inform appropriate, evidence-based use in professional practice.
