A therapist has to judge and weigh the variables of an individual’s personality and adjust treatment accordingly. Understanding a specific individual’s attitudes and behaviors when developing treatment plans can make the difference between success and failure.
The BTPI provides you with an objective manner to gather and organize relevant personality and symptomatic variables, so that you can incorporate this self-report information into the treatment process. It is an empirically developed and validated instrument that was based on two traditions: psychotherapeutic intervention and objective personality assessment.
How to Use the Assessment
The BTPI consists of a Full Form and a Symptom Monitoring Form. Both forms are available in handscored or software format. With the handscored format, the respondent uses an Item Booklet and QuikScore™ Form to complete the BTPI. The responses are recorded on the QuikScore™ Form for easy scoring. With the software format, you can instantly generate Interpretive Reports and Progress Reports for both forms. Back to the top
The BTPI Full Form
- Treatment Issues
- Current Symptoms
- Overly Virtuous Self-Views
- Exaggerated Problem Presentation
- Inconsistent Responding (validity)
The BTPI Full Form is ideal for collecting pertinent personality information from the individual before the treatment strategy is developed. It produces scores for all the scales. Symptom Monitoring Form
The BTPI Symptom Monitoring Form is a shorter form that is usually administered at various stages of the treatment process to measure symptom change and progress. Back to the top
